Repeating a previous successful pairing, the May Night Out will include a matinee at the Adobe Theater with dinner to follow at El Pinto Restaurant. The date is Sunday, May 18 at 2:00 PM for the final performance of Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks. This is a play by Richard Alfieri about Lilly Harrison, the widow of a Baptist minister, and Michael Minetti, a gay and ascerbic dance instructor, who is hired to give her dancing lessons. "Charming, funny, and genuinely moving," says the website.
The theater is located at 9813 4th St NW, a few blocks north of Alameda Blvd. Tickets are available on Adobe Theater's website for open seating at $22 for seniors and $26 general admission. We'll meet at 6:45 PM to find seats together. After the show we'll go farther north on 4th St. to El Pinto for dinner and a chance to talk about the play.
If you decide to join this Night Out adventure, go to the website to get your ticket(s) and then let me know you'll be there so I can make reservations for dinner -- huftrot@gmail.com or (505)350-2436.
