Great Decisions (First Saturdays)

  • Saturday, April 04, 2026
  • 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • 2616 Lava Bluff Dr NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120

With the start of a new (and already very eventful) year, we have a new edition of Great Decisions from the Foreign Policy Association with 8 thought-provoking and conversation-inspiring articles to discuss.

This is one of two groups we'll be running this year (though we're always open to starting another if there's enough interest). We'll try to limit each group to 8 participants to help facilitate discussions and participation.

The Great Decisions 2026 Edition is available now from the Foreign Policy Association website (https://fpa.org), and from other online booksellers.

The topics for this year are:

  1. America and the World: Trump 2.0 Foreign Policy
  2. Trump Tariffs and the Future of the World Economy
  3. U.S.-China Relations
  4. Ruptured Alliances and the Risk of Nuclear Proliferation
  5. Ukraine and the Future of European Security
  6. Multilateral Institutions in a Changing World Order
  7. U.S. Engagement of Africa
  8. The Future of Human Rights and International Law

We'll meet once a month for 90 minutes to talk about each topic, to help us all gain a better understanding of US foreign policy and the world. Given the (lately, extremely) dynamic nature of US policy and world events, we will have opportunities to reflect on the news as the year progresses.
